Yes, you heard right! This Independence Day, I'm feeling extra grateful since my brother and brother-in-law are home from Iraq. So, I will be giving away a free cake! All you have to do is leave a quick comment on why you love the 4th, along with contact info. I will announce the winner on July 1st. So, spread the word!

I just decorated the outside of my house for the 4th (my flagpole is over to the right, you just can't see it). I love this holiday! So, if you have a flag displayed and/or any decorations in your front yard, send me a pic! You'll get an extra entry for the free cake giveaway!

*The cake is free of charge. Having said that, the cake is to be made to my specifications. I will take into consideration food allergies, etc. No rain checks will be given. The cake is to be picked up on July 3rd, time tbd later. Good luck!

Free Cake!

I am willing to give a free cake to anyone that signs up to adopt a soldier through soldier's angels. Before you do, remember it's a big commitment. Most of these soldier's are deployed and you are adopting them for their entire deployment! This could be the few months they have left or a year, plus. Please make sure that you are able to write them once weekly and send a box at least once a month. The box itself costs approximately $10 (right Chels?), plus what you spend on the contents of it. A letter weekly costs normal postage. It's basically what you would pay eating out once at McDonald's. It's a great thing to share with your family and friends. The holiday's can be tough, especially when you are a deployed soldier. Please help if you can! And remember, I'll give you a free cake!

A little excerpt from the soldier's angels website:

...It's not the "things" that are sent that matter to us, it's the thought. That's the power ALL of you have who take the time to send things. You can change the worst day into the best day, in a split second. - MP in Iraq

The Giveaway Cake

This is the cake I made for my lucky winner. She requested it be cheerful and say Smile. So, I obliged and here is what we ended up with. Thanks Erin for the pic. I forgot to take one!

The Hurt's Wedding

This is my first of many wedding cakes to come, hopefully. I was so excited when I was asked to make a wedding cake for a couple getting hitched. They asked for red, black and white and the rest was up to me. So, here's what I did. I sure hope the bride and groom liked it. It's a little hard to see the details, but I thought it was much cuter in person. By the way, thanks Anna for the referral!

Heather's Cake

This was a cake made special for my sister-in-law. It was recently her birthday. We met at Olive Garden and I brought this little cake with me to celebrate. I ended up giving our waitress my info because she's interested in one!

Thirty Cake

This cake was made for my brother-in-law's 30th birthday party. I think his wife definitely had more appreciation for it! A cute cake is more of a girl's thing anyway.

Queen of Quite-A-Lot Cake

This was the second cake I made for my niece's princess birthday. The first one I made was "just practice"! She had cupcakes to match and I think she was in heaven!

Creamsicle Cake

A set of twins in my neighorhood turned 14. So, they got a cake to celebrate!

Joyful Cake

I was bored one day and this is what happened! This was also Jace's first taste of chocolate cake, thanks to my sister.

Kasey's Pretty in Pink Cake

Kasey's birthday was a good enough reason to make a cake just for her. It was all pink and all girl!

Western Cake

For my son's birthday, it was western themed presents. In turn, he needed a cowboy cake to go with his tractor and boots.
